Greenify

For us, being green means being responsible. Being responsible means understanding ones interconnection to all that is around you. Decisions must be made bearing this in mind.

We are trying to manufacture your favorite garment, the one you’ll want to wear again and again right out of the wash. The following is what we feel is important:

US Made

We support American farmers and American manufacturers who are, like us, trying to make a difference. We support fair wages, higher environmental standards and less energy used in traveling. Many products including organic cottons come from overseas without the benefits of these standards. Nearly all our shirts are entirely grown, sewn, then dyed and printed, by us, here in the U.S. Remember, made in the USA is another way of being green.

Organic Cotton

Simply, the numbers are this: cotton is only 6% of the world’s agriculture but utilizes 29% of the pesticides. Most of our line is organic. What isn’t will be just as soon as our suppliers can catch up to our needs.

Water based Inks

Conventional screen printing inks are full of nasty things like thalates and PVCs. We avoid this by using premium water based inks that wash up easily with soap and water after printing and that actually integrate into the fabric making our vivid images last and last.

Low Impact Dyes

We use the best Procion dyes available. They’re environmentally sound while still producing the vibrant colors we love.

Shipping and Gift Wrap

We are in partnership with the US Postal Service to get your order to you with the least amount of waste possible. The USPS has been awarded “Cradle to Cradle” Silver Certification. This is awarded to products that pursue and innovative vision of ecologically intelligent design that eliminates the concept of waste. We continue this by limiting materials when packaging your order.
Our gift wrap boxes were chosen so they are easy to reuse for another gift or as a little container to put various goodies in.

Office and Store

We recycle and use recycled supplies as much as possible. From paper to ink carriages to emailing our company information, we do our best to limit what ends up in the landfill.

Transportation

We bike and walk to our studio workshop and post office as much as possible. Some people have been lucky enough to see Tom on his flashy retro LeMond.

Brick and Mortar Store Front

For us, our new store is just a five minute walk from our home and for our community, it is in the heart of downtown. This makes it is close to other shopping options and an easy bike or bus ride from anywhere in town.
It has bamboo floors, VOC free paint, low energy light bulbs (each bulb saves $160.00 a year, we have 12, do the math) and metal and wood fixtures.

We use the following criteria for the store:

Made in the USA
Organic Cotton when we can
Hand Made/Low Production Goods
Good Design

This isn’t just well thought out clothing, it’s well thought out living that benefits everyone.
